When I went to Montclair State University, I was a terrible insomniac.
Almost every night, I would go up to the 15th floor lounge and stare at the cityscape ahead of me.
I would put on extremely chill music on loop and relax, focusing on the moving sky and the still, silent world below.
One night, I decided to take a bunch of pictures, about 20 minutes or so apart, just to have a little documentation of the sunrise.
Many times I ended up tearing up from the realization that through a lot of the things I was dealing with at the time (many girl problems, trouble in classes, and my dad’s illness), that series of small moments was always there for me to take in.
I may not attend MSU anymore, but this is an important sunrise to me.
If any of y’all ever see me working on campus, ask me about my Freeman sunrise story.
